The moment most MJ fans have been waiting for has arrived. With A Place With No Name slated to be the newly released single from Michael Jackson’s posthumous album, Xscape, anticipation has only been increased as the estate released new details regarding the short film today that will debut this coming Wednesday.

The beautifully shot short film, directed by iconic award-winning director Samuel Bayer, whose credits include seminal videos from Nirvana and The Rolling Stones, has been created by following Michael’s overall vision for short films which tell the song’s story, in this case, of a man enticed into a magical “place” by a mysterious woman. The short film also includes outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage of Michael shot during the production for “In The Closet” short film, which have been kept in the vault since 1992.

Oh, but that’s not all!
In true fashion to being the pioneer of not only pop culture, but music video culture as a whole, Michael will continue to do so in death as he did during his lifetime. The estate has pulled out all the bells and whistles.
On August 13, 2014 a preview of the short film for ‘A Place With No Name’ is set to make a network television debut during Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, Michael Jackson inspired episode which begins at 8pm ET.
The top 8 contestants will be performing a group routine to ‘A Place With No Name’ choreographed by Travis Payne and then dance with ‘new all-star partners’ for their individual performances set to Michael Jackson songs, including music from Xscape.
Then at 10pm(ET), Michael Jackson, will once again make HIStory with the TWITTER premiere for the short film for A Place With No Name. A Place With No Name’s twitter debut will be the first of its kind making Michael, once again, the trail blazer of a new era in Pop/Music Video culture.
Any and everybody(fan or not) who find themselves in New York City at the time of the short film’s premiere will enjoy the treat of watching the video on Sony’s massive screen in Times Square!
